About Tim Staney

Tim Staney has been developing web applications developer since 1997 when he first started programming classic ASP websites for Chicago Title-Market Intelligence and helped develop AVM (Automated Value Models), BPO (Broker Price Opinion) and appraisal products for the web. Originally from the Worcester, Massachusetts area, Staney now lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In addition to his corporate work, Tim has volunteered his web development expertise to the Worcester Pride Committee, AIDS Project Worcester, The Freedom to Marry Coalition, Equality Florida and served as a Data Captain for the Barack Obama campaign in 2008.

Tim Staney has been featured in 12-Volt News and “Who's Who?” in the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Tim has participated in countless web conferences on web futures including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business and is a frequent attendee of Microsoft-sponsored “Code Camps”, Bar Camp and other training events in the Tampa Bay area.

In 2009 and 2010, Staney helped shape the web vision for the Wonderland the Musical websites and assisted in the transitions to the Kentico CMS for the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Opera Tampa and Patel Conservatory websites. The Straz Center is the largest performing arts center in the Southeastern United States.

Tim is the Web Content Manager at St. Petersburg College working for the Marketing and Public Information department managing content in the college's Ektron content management system. Tim also teaches courses like Social Marketing for Small Business and Designing Effective Websites for St. Petersburg College's Learn to Earn and Corporate Training programs and regularly presents on similar topics to faculty, staff and students.

Tim Staney is a member of the American Marketing Association and <uwebd />, University Web Developers as well as the St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral Communications Task Force.
