Using Twitter for Customer Service

Recently, I had an issue with my cable bill — well, the fact that my monthly cable service was just about as much (or more) than my monthly power bill. So, I did what any customer in this highly-wired and always-on age would do; I let the company know I was not happy about it through a Twitter post. (Picking up the phone and waiting on hold to complain is sooooooo 2001.)

So, in the end, it all worked out. My service provider was able to fit me into a new plan that lowered my costs and kept my same level of service; and it took all of 27 direct messages to get it all done.

So, the next time you have a service issue with a provider —have you tried to reach out to them on Twitter? You may be pleasantly surprised.

And thanks, Brighthouse Networks for making things right - you have a great Twitter team.
